Brian was born in Fargo, the second oldest of six children. He has two daughters, Megan and Alyssa, son-in-law Michael and 20 nieces and nephews. After high school he attended and graduated from NDSU, a proud member of a three-generation "Bison" family.

Early in life, Brian's parents instilled in him the importance of faith, hard work, doing what you say you're going to do, fiscal responsibility, listening to others and leading by example. He lives by those very principles and strong conservative values each and every day.

Prior to public service, Brian enjoyed an extensive and respected career in the private sector during which he was consistently recognized for exceptional leadership and operational excellence.

Brian's personal foundation in life is faith, family, friends and helping others. He has a passion for volunteering both his time and personal resources and staying active in the community. He has served and continues to serve on a number of boards in the Bismarck-Mandan area.

As the owner of a cattle and grain operation in western North Dakota and an avid sportsman, Brian has a deep appreciation for land and wildlife resources alike. From his days in 4-H and FFA to present, he fully recognizes the need to always consider and protect private-property rights.

Brian strongly believes in community service and supporting our men and women in uniform. He was awarded the Pro Patria Award from the North Dakota ESGR in 2003 for his support of the National Guard and Reserve, the highest honor a state can bestow on a civilian.

Brian has a deep and sincere desire to serve the citizens of North Dakota. He firmly believes public service is a privilege, one that comes with great responsibility.  He believes government must always place public interests first, effectively serving citizens through limited government driven by a fiscally responsible approach.

Brian is a proud North Dakotan and takes great pride in calling our incredible state home. As a father, landowner, business leader and citizen, he recognizes that our state is indeed a special place to live, work and raise families.

Brian looks forward to visiting with you and earning your confidence and support!
